многим так концертрироваться или работать легче. я дома хорошо работала только тогда, когда прямо прямо перед дедлайном, а в библиотеке, когда смотришь на других работующих, как-то мотивируешься. плюс, какая-некакая социализация

есть с кем за кофе сходить, с кем на перекур выйти.

еще в билиотеках есть принтеры, если дома нет. еще можно брать книжки дополнительные, которые не хочется брать домой, а нужны не надолго

so how many classes are you actually taking at columbia? coz you're going to barnard, right?

i dont know why, like two out of four. In reality, it's so interwined - you wouldn't believe. Only one of my classes is closed to Columbia. And I'm restricted from taking like 9 classes (at most) at Columbia. And my diploma will be issued by Columbia U. And our orientation was for 'all four undergraduate schools.' It's weird and annoying - but just to me. In every day life I don't even notice there's a difference between Barnard and Columbia.

But my math and Eng Lit classes are... man, all math is at Columbia, really. Also almost all physics, and all statistics and computer science. All architechture and theatre is at Barnard. I guess it's a matter of history? To illustrate how interwined it is - my Eng Lit class is taught by Columbia-tenured professor, the code of the course suggests it is a Columbia department one, but it's taught on Barnard campus.

It's possible because we're literally right across the street.

I honestly have no idea. Separation here is very blurry. But it IS true that I do not feel that I go to Columbia.

Don't worry, on the weekend I might drop by to check if my ID allows me to go there. The thing is, the Law Library is kind of far. It's like two blocks away :/ Here, I became so spoiled that two blocks are no longer 'eh, what's two blocks?, but 'holy mother of god! TWO BLOCKS?! Let's stay home.' xD
